Hey gals, happy Monday! This week the A-Team is excited to share a collaboration with local blogger and fashion influencer Maggie Cebuhar of Bloggie Maggie! Maggie is an upcoming senior at the University of Arkansas in the Apparel Merchandising and Product Development program. Her love for fashion began early on in her life by shopping and creating with her mom. She grew up in Northwest Arkansas, so she’s seen first-hand the development of the fashion scene here over the past two decades. When Maggie was in high school, she worked with Beyond Urban boutique alongside owner Brianna Finelle. This experience gave her a unique insight into what the behind the scenes of the fashion industry were like. She also emphasized that boutiques and local shops really mold the people’s fashion, which is something unique to this area. This solidified in her that she knew she wanted to pursue a career in fashion
Maggie described her personal style as “more eclectic, not classic” and based on the time we spent with her during our Bloggie Maggie x Aline collab, as well as taking a look at the personal brand Maggie has built, it couldn’t be more true! Her Instagram feed is filled with every color in the rainbow with each outfit cohesive yet uniquely styled. For content collection for the Bloggie Maggie x Aline collab, store manager Sara Jayne Wilson and summer intern Allie Schorn set out on a sunny Saturday with Bloggie Maggie, fun fashion in tow! They asked Maggie to describe her personal style in three words, with which she answered, “bold, colorful, and funky”. They noted Maggie as a joy to work with! She was very positive, vibrant, and communicated her goals with her blog and about her position as an ‘influencer.’ When asked what sustainable fashion means to her, Maggie discussed longevity in the styles she buys and embracing alternative approaches to fashion consumption.
In addition to her collaboration with Aline, Maggie stated that secondhand shopping is one of her favorite things to do. Maggie loves the thrill of the chase when going to secondhand stores and is always excited to find things that mold perfectly with her style. One of her goals with the Bloggie Maggie forum is to influence her followers to support and shop local. She said it is helpful in finding your personal style to find a fashion niche you like and explore it! This sentiment somewhat directs Bloggie Maggie, although her blog also explores different DIYs, fashion hacks, and local hot spots people should visit.
One of Bloggie Maggie’s recent creative DIYs was a little upcycling project with this cute Dooney & Bourke bag. A gift from D&B executives at her internship, she turned this cute little cosmetic bag into a tiny crossbody, perfect for summer to-and-fros or a fun pop of color for an evening look! By just adding an extra jumpring and a strap, voila! a new purse!
She started her blog as a way to document her own outfits and keep track of how her style has developed mostly as a hobby for her own enjoyment. Since then, Bloggie Maggie’s following has blossomed, and now she says she wouldn’t mind doing this full time. Maggie noted that summer inspires her to create content for all ages, while during the school year she focuses more on the college crowd. Maggie hopes to relax the structure of her social media into a more ‘Instacausal’ brand, posting more pictures of things she likes rather than strictly outfit photos. She hopes to become a symbol for good things in the fashion industry, creating a space where people can be their most authentic selves.
Post-college Maggie’s dream is to work for Free People either as a buyer or vendor. She is currently in two internships, one with Dillards in Little Rock and the other virtually with Saylor NY. Through these experiences, she is learning the steps to learn a variety of skills that will help her achieve her dreams. Maggie sees blogging and having style influence as a fun way to interact with her friends and followers, but she hopes to excel as a buyer for a big company in New York after school. Maggie is what would be categorized as a breath of fresh air in the fashion industry. With her quirky style and sunshiney personality, Maggie’s brand and influence can’t be ignored. She is an excellent partner and someone the girls at Aline are excited to continue to collaborate with! Maggie donned this adorable cream Amanda Uprichard pearl snap dress for some fun brunch style shots at Arsaga’s Mill District. She styled it with a vintage red beaded handbag for a pop of texture and color. We love these vintage Chanel ladybug strappy sandals for summer. They paired perfectly with the creamy expanse of ruffle trim on Maggie’s Amanda Uprichard dress. These Betsey Johnson cherry rhinestone drop earrings make the sweetest little cherry on top of the outfit!
For a fun night out, Maggie styled this Y2K pink sequin halter mock neck with a hi-rise pair of Free Assembly denim. We love the grunge meets girly look going on in this fit! For some fun texture and color, these Sam Edelman pointed toe stilettos pull the look together with a little shimmer for strutting down the street with your girls. The look was just not quite complete without a purse, so Maggie grabbed this vintage, mini pink snakeskin Gucci that just went right along with the shoes. Mixing and matching is all about balance, but you can never have too much pink, right?
Orange is one of Maggie’s favorite colors, so we just knew we had to see her in this vintage Y2K hawaiian print halter! She paired it with a simple white Nike tennis skirt and a yellow Dooney & Bourke bag. Fashion is funky and it doesn’t always have to make sense and that's why it's so fun to see Maggie’s personality through how she chose to style some of Aline’s favorite pieces!
